I was recently asked by a local resident to view the path between Redesdale Gardens and The Crescent. The state of the footpath was very untidy and is broken up and dangerous in various parts. Just prior to reaching the back gardens of the properties on The Crescent there has been a level of fly tipping, particularly of garden waste. At the rear of the gardens in The Crescent the drainage channel has now been blocked which causes water to backfill and flood the area.
I took these issues up with the Council and I have now received a response from the Senior Investigations Engineer, Flood Risk Management Section, below:
“ Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention. After initial surveys, I have identified some routine maintenance necessary to the watercourse in question and will programme the work as soon as possible.”
I will update this website with any further responses I receive from the other Departments of the Council.
