PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT – SITE OF BODINGTON HALLS OF RESIDENCE

I would advise that a company called idPlanning who are the consultants acting on behalf of the University have sent out letters to a number of addresses surrounding the above site to advise that a consultation exercise will be taking place in November.

The information I am aware of is that Leeds University are wanting to sell off the land occupied by current student accommodation and put housing on the land.

The application they are going out to consultation on is outline only i.e. to get permission on the principle of development only the exact number of houses, house types, construction materials etc will  be the subject of a planning application at sometime in the future.

I have made it clear that whatever they come up with one of the major concerns will be highways access to and from the site i.e. will the Adel Lane access be used or just the one on to Otley Road.

Contact has been made with Jonathan Dunbavin at ID Planning to asked him to forward copies of the proposals so that I can see for myself the detail that they will be consulting with residents on.

The details of the consultation event are as follows:

Wednesday 9th November 2011 from 4.30pm at:-

The Small Meeting Room, First Floor, Central Block, Bodington Hall, Otley Road, Leeds LS16 5PT

The event will be informal with members of the development team being available between the hours of 4.30pm and 7.30pm so that members of the public can come in at any time during this period to look at the development proposals and discuss them with the development team.

IdPlanning will welcome feedback on the proposals and this can be undertaken either by filling out a comments sheet on the day or by forwarding your views either by email to jonathan@idplanning.co.uk or alternatively by mail to Atlas House, 31 King Street, Leeds LS1 2HL.
