I have been in discussions with Highways Officers about reviewing the speed limit and I have now been advised by Highways as follows:
“A658 Pool Bank New Road – existing speed limit is 50mph; proposed speed limit is 40 mph ; traffic engineers believe a 40 mph limit would be more achievable and acceptable and ties in with A660.
Speed surveys in the area indicate 40 mph is acceptable to promote.
Survey data to calculate average speed is as follows:
|A658 Pool Bank New Road|
|Site 1||Site 2|
Site 1 was roughly outside of Treetops Farm and Site 2 near the houses on the left just after the Dyneley Arms crossroads when going into Pool.
In addition to the above, part of the proposals include enhanced lining on Pool Bank New Road. This may have a knock-on effect on the speeds lower down the road [towards the village at the mini roundabout].”
These proposals have been taken to the Council Highways Board for consideration, what are your views on these proposals?
