I am pleased to report that the Adel Neighbourhood Forum has been officially recognised as a group. This will ultimately allow local people to have an influence over where new developments, amenities and facilities are located in the area.

Agreeing the boundary was a large part of becoming recognised and follows a series of negotiations between the Adel Neighbourhood Forum, local councillors and council officers.

This is an important development for Adel. Residents have taken part in two open events this year as well as completing a survey to say what they would like to see in their neighbourhood and what sort of facilities are needed  and how they would like the area to look in the future.  Once the Neighbourhood Plan itself is agreed via a local referendum it will be an important document in the planning process and anyone wanting to develop or change anything in Adel will have to take it into account. It builds on the Adel Neighbourhood Design Statement.
