An application also came forward for funding for a quad bike for the sole use in the North West area which will help cut accidents caused by slipping and falling on the highway by clearing leaves and spreading grit. The NHS has already agreed to fund the cost of four quad bikes and four small towed drop spreaders across Leeds, and I had pressed for the funding for the equipment. It is forecast the project will benefit the NHS and the Highway service, as accidents can prove costly for both organisations. The decision to purchase a further bike was based on positive feedback from last winter.  With us all working together like this it should benefit the community enormously.
