UPDATE ON CORE STRATEGY AND SITE ALLOCATIONS PROCESS

At a recent Development Plans Panel meeting  we were presented with 2 sets of reports, one on the progress with the Core Strategy, the other in respect of the Site Allocations process. The former sets out the overall planning strategy for the Council, the 2nd is feedback on the consultation exercise carried out in the summer to identify potential housing sites.

If you click on the links below you will be able to access these reports.

The conclusions to be drawn are the Core Strategy will not be approved until after May 2014 at the earliest, which means that no Neighbourhood Plans can be completed until after then. The other is that the council have still a lot of work to do agreeing which sites will and will not come forward for development. This will lead to continuing uncertainty in all communities.

The other unknown factor is the result of any pending Inspector’s report on appeals or any future appeals or decisions made in the interim.
