Housing Associations in Leeds are being urged to bid for a slice of funding designed to help deliver much needed specialist housing in the city. Nearly half a million pounds worth of funding from ‘Right to Buy’ sales – council properties that have been sold to tenants – is now available. The funding will be used to build specialist properties for households with a disabled family member.
I think this is an excellent opportunity for housing associations to secure funding that will increase the supply of specialist properties in Leeds. I am pleased at the Government’s decision to change the rules on how right to buy receipts can be spent – which has helped make the scheme possible.
