I have been advised of the following information from Leeds City Council this afternoon:
“We just had the latest from the Met Office who have issued a Yellow warning for snow that captures Leeds http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/#?tab=warnings®ionName=yh. Valid from Friday afternoon until midnight Friday with around 5cm sounding possible. This is accompanied by more rain prior and high winds (though nothing like yesterday – & no wind warnings for us as yet). Apparently, whether we get snow or not is on a knife edge so we’ll be hoping for improved forecasting early tomorrow.
The most pronounced impact has been relating to call volumes within Housing Leeds for reactive maintenance and repair, with the Contact Centre boosting staff to work on handling these calls. On a similar basis the same can be said for LCC property, with a range of minor repairs needed to our assets.
Parks & Countryside Forestry dealt with 50 incidents in total.”
