PUBLIC MEETING – PLANNING APPLICATIONS – PAS SITE – 14/01660/OT and 14/01874/OT

Please find below details about a public meeting I have organised in respect of the two planning applications for the PAS site opposite Adel St. John’s Church.

You will be aware there are 2 planning applications recently submitted, one by Hallam Land, the other by David Wilson Homes, who, between them, own the PAS site opposite the Church. I am concerned that neither of these parties gave any notice to us that they were submitting their application and they did undertake at the last public consultation to come back and talk to Adel residents. With this in mind I have invited both of these parties plus Planning Officers and other relevant officers from Leeds City Council to attend a public meeting so that residents can ask questions of all of them. The details are as follows:

 Date:                     Thursday 8th May

Time:                    7pm

Venue:                 Adel Memorial Club, Church Lane, Adel

I accept that this meeting date is after the advertised closing date for comments on these applications but it is anticipated that the Secretary of State/Planning Inspector’s decision on a similar type development at Kirklees Knowl in the Calverley/Farsley area of the city will be in the public domain by then and this will help to inform the debate. I have also secured an extension to the advertised closing date to enable residents to submit any new or amended comments as a result of the public meeting. *Please note that the Planning Department has confirmed that separate comments will be required for each application.

It would be good if you could attend and bring any comments that you may have to the attention of the developers, planners or highways officers. The format of the meeting will be – from 7pm to 7.30pm/7.45pm residents will have a chance to look at the plans/exhibition that the developers have and from 7.30pm/7.45pm a meeting will be held using a question and answer style format.

Please bring this to the attention of your friends and neighbours who may be interested in this issue.
