WILDFLOWER GARDEN TO COMMEMORATE THE START OF THE 1ST WORLD WAR

I was approached by some residents in Adel to ask whether as a way of commemorating the 1st World Ward, in addition to events already taking place, a wildflower garden with poppies and other flowers, could be planted on an area of Bedquilts that is currently overgrown, at the back of Wayland Drive. I arranged a meeting with these residents along with officers from Parks & Countryside and this has resulted in a small grant being awarded to Parks & Countryside to pay for the wildflower seeds which will be planted soon.
