Well Done to Ralph Thoresby – school on the up

I am delighted to see that Ralph Thoresby is celebrating an improvement in exam results for the second successive year.
The percentage of students gaining C grades or better in both English and Maths rose to 55% which represents an increase of 8 percentage points over two years. The percentage of students making expected or more than expected progress in the core subjects has also increased dramatically with English results this year rising above the national average.
Ralph Thoresby students have also continued to impress at A level where targets were comfortably exceeded again. The school recorded a 100% pass rate with 33% of grades at A* or A. Every student in Year 13 achieved the grades required to attend University with the vast majority getting their first choice.
Headteacher, Will Carr attributed the improvements in performance to ‘incredible commitment and hard work from both students and teachers’. ‘We’ve introduced more rigorous aspirational targets for our students and they’re responding really well’.
Mr. Carr is keen to point out that the school has ambitions to improve still further, ‘We are all determined to maintain the upward trend and go on to become an ‘outstanding’ school.
