I am pleased to report that at a meeting of the Outer North West Community Committee today grant funding of £5000 was awarded to Pool Village Hall Development Project. This grant will be used towards converting the existing area occupied by the stage into a space that will include a ground floor meeting room, two storage rooms and a first floor social room.
The ground floor meeting room will have disabled access, the new store rooms will provide safer and more accessible storage for the community groups and the upper room will generate more income.
The grant will also help fund the construction work for the project.
I am so pleased that we were able to award this grant to the Village Hall in Pool. The hall is so well used by the whole community and beyond and plays a vital part in village life. By undertaking this work they will be able to extend the amount of hire they can meet as there will be more room to let out. The ground floor meeting room will extend the existing disabled access, be available for public meetings and house the Village Archive.
The Village Hall committee has also put up a display to show people how the hall will look when the project is complete. It is also anticipated that an open day will be held when it is completed.
