I was recently asked by local residents whether the council could carry out a speed and volume survey of traffic using Moseley Wood Lane. I have now received the results of the survey. The Council’s Highways Assistant Engineer in Traffic Management has responded as follows:

“The results show mean speeds that are perhaps slightly higher than desirable, but lower than the posted speed limit. The morning peak does not see a discernible increase in volume of traffic along the route, but there is an increase in the PM peak. A high of 139 vehicles is little more than 2 a minute, so whilst there is most likely a degree of rat-running taking place, I don’t feel there is a major issue at this time. The absence of any injury accidents along the route also suggests the issue does not require any immediate attention.”
