PLANNING APPLICATION – 15/07094 – Proposed new roundabout junction to serve to land to east of A660 Leeds Road, opposite The Poplars, Bramhope (UDP PAS allocation and emerging housing allocation HG2-017) together with pedestrian crossing points, new pedestrian/cycle route and landscaping

I have received notice of the above planning application which has been submitted by Miller Homes. The Senior Planner in this case has advised as follows:

“We have received a new planning application for a revised roundabout on the A660 In Bramhope. It is to serve the emerging phase 3 site allocation site and the site subject to a public inquiry next year. The roundabout position has changed and is now within green belt opposite The Poplars.”

If you have access to the internet you can see the plans and documents there. Go to www.leeds.gov.uk/planning Click on “Search Planning Applications” and type the reference number 15/07094 in the box.

I am opposed to this proposal as I have concerns that this is premature due to the impending appeal referred to above not yet being determined. I remain opposed to development on this site at this time as there are brown field sites that should be used first and it is in Phase 3 of the site allocations.

If you would like to make a comment on this application please use one of the following methods:

Write to: The Planning Department, Leonardo Building, Great George Street, Leeds LS1 or

Email: planning@leeds.gov.uk

Quoting the reference number.

The closing date for comments is 8th January but I am challenging this date given that this is such a high profile application and the Christmas holiday period takes out a number of days. However, comments will be accepted up until the date the Planning Officer writes their report.

Please let your friends and neighbours know about this if they do not have access to email or to the internet.

I would find it very useful if you could forward a copy of your comments to me, to enable me to represent your views clearly and concisely.
