GINNEL – WOODSTOCK CLOSE TO ADEL VALE AND WOODSTOCK CLOSE BETWEEN SIR GEORGE MARTIN DRIVE AND LONG CAUSEWAY

At the recent Street Surgery I was approached by residents in respect of the state of the ginnel between Long Causeway and Sir George Martin Drive that runs up the side of Woodstock Close and the one between Adel Vale and the ginnel above. They need cleansed of detritus and mud and in respect of the one going up Woodstock Close there is serious ponding when it rains.

I took this up with the relevant Council officers and received the following response from the Highways Operations Manager, as follows:

“As we discussed at our meeting, the footway to the rear of number 16 Adel Vale where it ponds, requires fully reconstruction and raising by over 400mm. I met the residents earlier and I explained the need to raise the footway, having investigated further and seeing the levels within the garden, I don’t see a problem. I have given a provisional date of 4 – 6 weeks.”
