Councillors in Adel & Wharfedale Ward have funded life-saving equipment in the form of Defibrillators for a number of sites across the Ward. These will add to the already existing machines that are in place in other complementary locations..
I am very pleased that we have been able to secure the funding for these vital pieces of equipment that we hope nobody ever has to use but we want people to know they are there and to be able to reach it quickly. We have recently had installed 3 defibrillators at The Bramhope Methodist Church, Golden Acre Park and the Co-op Store on Otley Road in Adel. Anyone can use these machines you do not have to be trained.
The addition of these machines will complement the existing ones in the Adel War Memorial Hall, Arthington Village Hall and Main Street in Pool. We are also working with other groups to secure these in and around other venues, for example, at Cookridge Village Hall. It is important that people are aware of their existence and most of these are also near to residential properties.
