In June the Council held a Transport Summit. Over 170 people attended representing businesses, residents  and organisations. Three themes emerged from this – the need to improve the ease of use of public transport; the need to deliver significant public transport investment in Leeds in the short term; the need to gain a consensus on the city’s medium to long term plans. The Council has until autumn 2016 to submit an outline strategic case to government for £173m funding. Further engagement events will be arranged including via digital and social media. This will also link in to planned activity by other partners e.g. Leeds Bradford airport.
