TRAFFIC LIGHTS AT JUNCTION OF RING ROAD AND LONG CAUSEWAY/ADEL LANE

I was recently asked by  a resident if there was  a problem with these traffic lights. I took this up with Highways and the reply is set out below

For an explanation of MOVA click on this link:

We have had problems with the MOVA system that controls the timings for that junction.  These have now been resolved, but two issues remain.

  1. Following resurfacing, we need to recut the vehicle detection loops in the carriageway.  This involves a road closure, which is programmed for early October.
  2. We shall be changing the outdated controller soon, hopefully October too, to a more reliable one that doesn’t let us down so often!

We shall of course seek to minimise disruption to traffic.”
