This is the latest update on Paul’s Pond from the Country Parks Office:

“We are in the final stages of the repairs to the leaking dam at Paul’s Pond and are working towards completing them by the 14th October. There may be some remedial work after this date, but if health and safety requirements allow it, we will endeavour to open the site by the 14th October. The work has been difficult owing to the lack of information regarding the dam’s structure to contain the water and on past works to stop leakages. In spite of these problems and utilising the services of an experienced reservoir engineer, we are doing a major overhaul of the dam and it’s drainage mechanism to ensure the retention of this historical ice lake for the people of Leeds and for the continued benefit if the indigenous wildlife.”
