ENHANCED PASSENGER COMPENSATION – DELAY REPAY FROM 15 MINUTES

“Dear Colleague

I have received the following information as members of Rail North and  thought you might find it interesting and useful as it relates to compensation for rail passengers whose trains are delayed by more than 15 minutes.”

“The Secretary of State has confirmed his desire to implement the government’s commitment to enhance compensation for passengers so that those whose trains are delayed by more than 15 minutes become eligible for compensation, and has determined that the Delay Repay scheme is the best approach to this. He will seek the enhancement of current passenger compensation schemes to the standard of Delay Repay, with a 15 minute threshold from which passengers can claim. The compensation level will be 25% of the cost of the single fare for delays of between 15 and 29 minutes. The existing Delay Repay compensation thresholds will continue to apply for delays from 30 minutes. The DfT press release is available at:
