MOSELEY WOOD BOTTOM – SAFETY CONCERNS ABOUT CHILDREN PLAYING ON THE BUILDING SITE

A number of concerns have been raised with me about the danger of children playing on the building site, in terms of their safety. I have alerted Taylor Wimpey to this and their Technical Director has responded as below:

“Thanks for passing this note on, and we note the concerns expressed. We have instructed our Health and Safety Advisor to undertake a site inspection to review the level of security following these recent reports. Our advisor has reported that the site is well fenced off, with suitably padlocked gates at the site access point.

We have requested that our contractor review the fencing daily to ensure it is secure at all times and to minimise the potential for this being able to be climbed.

We also intend to undertake a letter drop to local residents advising of the dangers posed by children playing on construction sites. We would assure you that we take matters of Health and Safety extremely seriously and will be monitoring the situation going forward.”
