I was asked by a local resident about an advert they had seen showing that the land where the garages in the centre of the site are has been advertised for auction on 20th July and had been headed up “Residential Development” although subject to planning consents etc. I took this up with Grainger plc’s Head of Portfolio Management who has advised as follows:

“We have decided to exercise our right to dispose of the sites and have advertised them to maximise interest accordingly but the extract should be taken as read in that we have not undertaken any work in scoping or submitting for planning for the sites and that anything like this would be left to any Buyers pursuant to a successful sale.

In the meantime from a management perspective we are treating the site as business as usual. We have recently let a couple of garages that have stood empty for a long time, and the first couple of new parking bays have been let under licence. We have sent mail merges to local residents inviting them to take up a parking space under Licence and await further interest.”

The Sales and Valuation Manager has clarified the location:

“I can confirm we have entered the garage sites (located in the centre of the estate only) into Allsops July auction.”
