There have been a number of emails and correspondence on social media about the trees that will need to be removed as a result of the path construction at the bottom of Cookridge Drive to the Taylor Wimpey development site. When I queried this with the Council recently this was the response I received
‘The outline consent (14/04270/OT) gave consent for the creation of the cycle/footpath link from the main development site to Cookridge Drive at which time the impact on the Green Belt was considered by the Council and on balance was considered to be acceptable. The footpath route is shown on the approved plans under the outline consent.”
In effect they were saying they were satisfied that the trees can be removed and this was discussed when the original planning application. This was then approved as per the notice discharging the conditions.
