OUTCOME OF CONSULTATION ON PROPOSAL FOR A “GREENWAY” ON HOLT LANE

I have now collated the responses I received from the consultation on the idea of a Greenway on Holt Lane from Holt Road to Cookridge Lane. The results are:

I received a total of 61 responses

25 people who responded were in favour of the proposal

36 people who responded were against the proposal

Amongst those who were for and against, there was a lot of support for reducing the speed limit to 30mph or even 20mph. Also of those in favour, quite a few responses said a Greenway from Holt Road to Holt Park Road would be better than the whole length.

GENERAL COMMENTS
·         A lot of responses asked why we can’t signpost people to the path that runs down the side of the Holtdales then through ginnel to HP Crescent etc.
·         2 people have asked whether Farrar Lane could be opened up again which would reduce traffic on Holt Lane. However, it was mentioned that the top part of Farrar Lane is a good example of a local greenway.
·         A lot of the people against think too much traffic will then be on the other surrounding roads up through Holt Park

I trust this keeps you up to date with this proposal. I will pass the results to the Highways officer.
