See information below, which I have been asked by the police to circulate :

On the 3rd October a resident attended at Bramhope Medical Centre in their vehicle. Before they got out of the car they were approached by a male who distracted them with a large paper map and spoke with broken English, asking for directions. Whilst the resident was distracted by this male her handbag was taken from the vehicle.

This distraction was used before in our area in Cookridge, residents were followed home from supermarkets after being watched using their chip and pin cards. Handbags were then stolen and the bank cards were used by the suspects who had seen the pin numbers whilst in the shop.

Please be vigilant and if approached do not speak to the person and lock your car door and protect your possessions.

Please report any incident to the Police on 101 or if an ongoing crime via 999.
