I have been asked by the police to pass on the information below:

“Please can you circulate the below as a warning to our residents;

On the afternoon of Friday 10th November “rogue traders” attended at the home of an elderly person in Pool in Wharfedale and advised her she needed some guttering work doing at her home. This work did not need doing and they quoted an amount of £860. The men asked for cash payment, the resident went out to withdraw cash and thankfully the Post Office were concerned and alerted the Police. No money was handed over to the men on this occasion but please be aware, do not feel pressured to have any work done, if worried call the Police or a family member or friend. The “rogue traders” were using a white Ford Transit van and had left before the Police attended.”
