Below is an update on the forthcoming bus service changes, from First Bus:
“As part of our on going work to deliver improved reliability for our customers, I would like to update you on bus services in the above areas.
This week we are registering changes that will be introduced for customers from 18 February.
The changes include timetable amendments to improve reliability on services 1 & 6 (Holt Park), 28 (Adel), 97 (Horsforth, Guiseley) & X84 (Otley / Ilkley).
Our data, supported by feedback from customers, stakeholders and our staff has clearly identified a need for us to review the 33 (Guiseley) & 33A (Otley). Following a timetable change in October, we are now implementing a more comprehensive timetable revision. To do this we need to increase the driver and bus resources in the service to meet the increased amount of time the journeys are now taking, particularly in the evening peak. To help support the changes needed to improve the 33/33A reliability, we will be reverting the 19A to terminate at Tinshill
rather than to the existing point of Yeadon. Whilst we recognise this will disappoint some customers, we will continue to review links like this as part of any future review in the area.
We will of course continue to work with our partners to introduce improvements on the network that support reliable bus services, tackle congestion and encourage people to take the bus.
As well as welcoming the first or our new bus commitment early in the New Year, we’ll also be offering contactless payments for customers on all our services from mid-January. This will help speed up boarding time and improve journey reliability.”
