I have been advised by the senior Land and Property officer at the Council that the potential developer for the Eastmoor site has now issued their proposals to the Council and these can be made public. As soon as the proposals reach the planning application stage I have agreement that a public meeting/exhibition will be held to give residents a chance to comment on the proposals prior to a decision being made on whether to grant planning permission. It is hoped this could be held, depending on the date the application comes forward, at Adel Primary school. Prior to this, the developer will go through the pre-application stage where any issues can be raised by planners and Ward Councillors. Following that and depending on whether there are any amendments requested by the planners a planning application will be made.

The proposals being discussed with the Council at present are for around 93 units, made up of 44 flats and 44 2, 3 and 4-bedroom houses. The design also makes use of the old chapel building and the swimming pool building. Access for residents would be via East Moor Lane. There are also plans for a convenience store on site.

There is no plan or map available at this stage showing the proposed layout.
