Pool AFC submitted a bid to the Outer North West Area Committee and I am delighted that they were successful in their bid for a grant of £2280 to help with improvements to the drainage of the football pitch. There is a lot of work going to take place to ensure that during the next season less matches will be lost to the weather. The volunteers who run the football club work very hard and this will ease the pressure on them by having a quality pitch to play on.
Having the pitches in good condition will enhance the reputation of the club around the district, as well as making it a great place for teams to play on and for visitors to enjoy. It is so important that the children are able to use it as much as possible, as team sports build confidence in them, teach them how to be team players and give them space to run around outdoors.
