HOLT PARK FUNDING BID SUCCESSFULLY SECURES ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENTS TO LOCAL PATHWAYS

At a recent meeting of the Housing Advisory Panel (HAP) an award of a grant for £3440 towards improvements to pathways within the entrance to the Holtdale estate was made.

The original project to develop an overgrown piece of land was a great success. Lottery Commission funding was sought for installing a new path, benches and a wildlife space that could be enjoyed by everyone. The grant money awarded now will go towards maintaining the two pathways that run through the land and level them out as they have started to disintegrate and become somewhat uneven. I want the area to continue to be welcoming and enjoyed by residents and it is important that the hard work that goes into keeping the space open and attractive is not wasted.

I am pleased that the funding has been secured as it is important we continue to make improvements to the environment and it is this kind of project that suits the HAP funding very well. A lot of work has gone into the original development of the space and we need to ensure that it does not fall into disrepair and become overgrown and underused.
