Please find below the latest update received from the Highways Engineer in connection with works associated with the Miller Homes development in Bramhope.
“I write to update you on the progress of the S278 A660 Leeds Road, Bramhope highway works associated with the Miller Homes Development off Breary Lane.
Over the last several months we have been stood down as Miller Homes were experiencing problems in finalising the land sale. As of yet Leeds City Council are still waiting for the S278 agreement to be signed, payment to be made and confirmation of our start on site date. However Miller Homes are confident that purchase of the land is imminent and have informed us that they are now committing and coordinating their works to start on site in April 2019.
Millers works will consist of laying a surface water outfall sewer to drain their site, the sewer will connect to a watercourse that is down the Sycamores, which runs along the side of the sports pitches, Millers have agreed the connection with the Council’s Flood Risk Management team, the sewer will be laid in the A660, crossing the road at the A660/Kings Road/The Sycamores roundabout before heading down The Sycamores. This is preliminary statutory undertakers work required by the developer and is not works being undertaken by Leeds City Council. However we have requested that they contact businesses, the sports club and residents before commencing.
Apologies that we have not given as much notice as we had hoped. We were contacted by Miller Homes on Monday 25th Feb and a site meeting was arranged and held the next day when they informed us that they will be applying for a road permit to lay the drain to commence in April.
Now that Miller Homes have planned their preliminary works, we expect the main highway works (which will be carried out by Leeds City Council) will commence soon after.”
