I have been sent the following information:

“I am writing to inform you that on Tuesday 19th March  – 24th April Northern Gas Networks will begin works to replace their old cast iron gas main on Tinshill Road at the junction with Tinshill Lane.

The location of the excavations mean that  Tinshill Road will be closed to be closed (one way only) to vehicles traveling in a north easterly direction  – i.e. up the hill.

Traffic travelling down Tinshill Road will be unaffected.

A signed diversion will be in place along Tinshill Lane and Otley Old Road.

Parking will be suspended opposite the parade of shops [on Tinshill Road] to ensure that this running lane is fully clear of obstructions.

Parking cones will also be placed out on Tinshill Lane for 50m or so from the Tinshill Road [junction] in an attempt to keep the both lanes clear to accommodate the extra traffic being diverted through the junction.

Advanced warning signs have been placed out on site to alert regular road users.

In respect of the affected bus services (6 & 31), the drivers have been advised as follows:

– outbound to Holt Park shopping Centre

Normal route to Tinshill Lane, Woodnook Drive, Silk Mill Drive, Silk Mill Rd, Woodnook Drive, Haigh Wood Road, Tinshill Lane, then (L) Otley Old Road Holtdale Approach, Holt Crescent to Holt Park Shopping Centre

Inbound to Leeds – the service will operate normal route

For passengers living in the affected area First Bus advise that they will allow bus passengers to travel back down to their usual stops which they would normally alight at, at no extra cost.

Service 31 will operate via Tinshill Lane towards Holt Park Shopping centre and normal route towards Horsforth
