“I am writing to you to let you know about the latest stage of the Leeds Site Allocations Plan (SAP). You are receiving this letter because you are on our database of people interested in the Plan.
Leeds Site Allocations Plan (SAP) allocates land for future housing and employment and also makes designations for retail and green space across the whole of Leeds (except for the area covered by Aire Valley Leeds Area Action Plan).
On 5th May 2017 Leeds City Council submitted the Site Allocations Plan to the Secretary of State for independent examination under Section 20 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004.
Following examination in public in October 2017 and July 2018, the Planning Inspectorate has issued the City Council with the Site Allocations Plan examination Inspector’s Report and Main Modifications on 7th June 2019. The report concludes that subject to the recommended modifications being made, the plan is sound. It satisfies the requirements of Section 20(5) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase 2005 Act and it provides an appropriate basis for the planning of the city.
The Council’s Executive Board will consider a report on the Site Allocations Plan, the Inspectors Report and subsequent adoption of the Plan at its meeting on 26th June with a view to adopting the Plan at a meeting of Council on 10th July 2019.
