Asda Adel and Holt Park Centre – Investment and regeneration proposals and Leeds City Council Extra Care Housing proposal

Please find set out below two updates. One in respect of the Asda development at Holt Park and the second one in respect of the proposed Extra Care Housing the Council are bringing forward for part of the old Ralph Thoresby school site.

  1. Asda Holt Park

As you may be aware, Asda was recently granted planning permission by Leeds City Council for significant investment proposals at the Adel Holt Park Store and the wider Holt Park Centre.

The proposals include:

  • An updated Asda store;
  • Car park improvements;
  • New toilets;
  • A new customer entrance;
  • The provision of new retail pods;
  • The provision of a café; and
  • The reconfiguration and upgrading of the public realm.

The latest set of plans and the decision notices for background information are now available. If you would like copies then email me at barry.Anderson@leeds.gov.uk

The proposed site access, which is still to be formally agreed, is proposed to be via a temporary opening to be cut in the existing eastern boundary wall of the Leeds City Council development site, then a crossover to the existing footpath & link down onto the local road behind the pub.  The proposed layout plan shows the route hatched in red.  This then avoids the need to use the existing site access.

The proposed haul road runs parallel to the existing pathway that goes from just outside the Farrar Lane sheltered complex up to the site. There is an indicative drawing attached.

  1. Extra Care Housing Proposal Farrar Lane

In respect of the  above another plan is available showing the Leeds City Council site referred to above which will become the site for the Extra  Care Housing. The planning application for this has not yet been submitted but the plan attached shows the area hatched in red and the relationship with the buildings that will be around it.

Again, if you would like a copy of that plan email me as stated above.
