A number of residents have asked to specific questions about this proposal namely:
- Will the public still have access (or indeed, right of way) to access the revised Asda complex from the existing path running NNW from the SW of The High Farm public house.
- How will residents not in receipt of these emails be able to comment on the proposals?
I took these issues up with the Council and their response is set out below.
“Dear Councillor Anderson
Pedestrian access to Asda will be maintained and the public will still have access from the existing path running NNW from the SW of The High Farm public house. This route forms part of the PROW and is protected.
As part of the land swap between LCC and Asda, the area of land left over from the demolition works will come under the ownership of LCC. This will also include the area of land between Asda and the proposed extra care development site.
After the demolition works have been completed the area will be turned into green space and as part of these proposals there will be the provision of additional pedestrian routes, to improve connectivity for all residents and also the new development site.
Legal notices will be placed on site to advertise the Stopping Order, providing an opportunity for all residents to provide any comments they may have.”
