As you may be aware I receive a lot of complaints about inappropriate parking at school times in the streets around the school. The police have been paying particular attention to the area since the school term resumed and set out below is an update from the PCSO who attended with colleagues on Friday.
“I attended yesterday morning with two other colleagues due to other recent complaints we had received with regards to the same issue. Fixed penalty notices were issued to offending vehicles & this process will be repeated by local officers.
I am working closely with Holy Trinity Primary school who are very supportive of our efforts & will assist when they can. They regularly update their weekly newsletter with regards to the parking & also we use it to advise & update on the issue.
I will endeavour to attend as frequently as possible & will make sure that more attention will be paid around the Kirkwood Drive area. I do understand how frustrating it must be for local residents. The newly painted yellow lines have helped in the area, but I feel they have pushed the issue further up. This is why I think Kirkwood Drive has seen an increase in problems.”
