Please find below an update from the Highways Engineer in regard to the timetable for the completion of the zebra crossing:
“Just to keep you in the loop regarding progress on this scheme, the construction works are almost complete. The carriageway resurfacing is due to take place next week, with the surface being planed on Wednesday, resurfaced Thursday and the road markings applied Friday.
I am aware that the beacons have already been installed and are operational, which is not usual practice. However it does mean that the zebra crossing will be operational from Friday when the road markings are applied.
In terms of the local lighting that is to sit atop the beacon poles, these are on order. They are a site-specific specialised design and are then ordered from Germany, so there is likely to a delay before installation here.”
